Q- My sign
is looking faded, is there anything to brighten it up or should I have it replaced?
A- Yes, you can wash the sign with soap & water then
give it a coat of good automotive wax. However, it
might also be a good time to consider a fresh look. You will be surprised how
many people will comment
on a new sign.
Q- Will
you use paint or vinyl, which is better, which lasts longer?
A- Vinyls have come a long way since we started using
them in our signs 14 years ago, and for the most
part there isn't much we can't do with them. However, certain jobs like sandblasted
signs requires paint.
Each job is handled individually. Lifespan of both materials is similar, although
vinyl hasn't been around
long enough to get long term results.
Q- I want
to use my sign layout for all of our advertising, can I get a disc copy?
A- We will gladly sell you a copy of the sign, however
we would like the opportunity to quote on any other
forms of advertising you have planned. We haved networked ourselves with top
companies in the graphics
trades to offer full service design and print work at competitive pricing.
Q- Do you
need the PMS color numbers of our logo so you can match them on our sign?
A- We will use them as reference when computer cut vinyl
is involved, to match to our vinyl manufacturers
colors. If your job is being digitally printed, we will use the actual PMS color,
however results still vary.
Q- I'm
getting prices for a new sign, can you provide us with a layout and quote?
A- The quote is no problem, however the layout is going
to require a deposit wich can be applied towards
your job when you order it.
Q- Can
I apply this vinyl myself?
A- If you feel comfortable with it, no problem. We will
even give you some quick pointers when you pick
it up. And if you get started and feel it's too hard, we will finish it for
you.
Q- Our
logo is on our website, can you use it?
A- No. The images are just too small to do anything with.
See our Policies under "Contact Us" for
acceptable files.
VEHICLES
Q- I want
to wax my car, should I do it before or after you've lettered it?
A- Do nothing but wash the surface before bringing in
your vehicle. We will degrease pryer to applying
graphics to make sure there is good adhesion. After a couple of weeks cure time
we recommend
waxing the entire vehicle.
Q- Our
vehicle was just re-painted, do I need to wait to have it lettered?
A- Yes. At least 2 weeks to allow the new paint to fully
cure ( not just dry). During that time,
solvents are coming to the surface and show up as air bubbles if graphics are
applied.
Q- How
long should I wait before washing my vehicle now that it's lettered?
A- 2 weeks before you use any type of high pressure water
or any automated carwashs. However,
you may hand wash the same day with automotive soap and warm water.
Q- I'm
looking for some graphics to break up the look of my new truck, do you have
any suggestions?
A- Best bet here is to go through our porfolio or bring
in some photo's of the type of work you like.
There are so many avenues to take, it helps when we get a feel for what you
like.
Q- I want
to letter the windows of our van but am concerned with visbility. Will I still
be able to see out?
A- T he lettering on glass is surprizingly easy to see
past. If there is a concern, we can use Vision Vinyl
which is the same product used on buses.
Q- How
big a vehicle can you fit in your shop?
A- Our door is 12' wide by 14' high, and the floor area
is 20' x 52' in the back portion of the shop.
HELMETS
Q- Does
it matter what color helmet I buy to have painted?
A- White with no graphics is best. Dark helmets have to
be primed white first and graphics have to
be sanded completly smooth
or you will see where they were.
Q-
Do I have to come up with the design or would you rather do it?
A- Your input is very important. Try and gather pictures
of helmet designs you like so we have an idea
of what you like. From that we will create a concept that will be faxed or e-mailed.
Try to use ideas you
have found as inspiration and don't ask us to copy someone else.
Q-
Is there any trick to keeping my helmet cleen?
A- When complete, your helmet will have a finish similar
to a car. A good automotive wax, or auto detailer
works best. Try and avoid silicone washes and waxes as you will not be able
to make any repairs to the
paint if it is ever scratched.
Q-
How soon can I wear it?
A- You can wear it as soon as you pick it up, but try
and avoid pressure from your hands as the clear
will continue to harden the next couple of weeks and you may leave finger prints.
Q-
Can you repair your work if it is damaged?
A- Although we can repair paint work, any damaged helmet
should be checked for internal stress cracks
that may not be visible. Hospitals offer x-ray services for this. Remember,
helmets are designed for
1 impact and should really be shelved after that.
TEXTILE PRINTING
Q-
I only need a few shirts printed, do you have a minimum?
A- No. However, there will be art, screen and set-up charges
applied regardless of quantity. Like in
most printing businesses, the higher the quantity...the lower the per item price.
Q-
Do you print on black garments?
A- We recommend spot printing only, not 4 color process.
Keep in mind light colors will require a white
base on dark garments.
Q-Do
you have sample shirts?
A- We have samples in our show room of the most popular
sizes and styles of t-shirts, golf shirts,
sweats, jackets and hats. They are also availble on loan for company sizing.
Q-
Will the print wash out or is there special care required?
A- It is recommended to wash garments inside out the first
few washes. You cannot dryclean
screen printed clothing due to the solvents used in dry cleaning.
Q-
Do I have to supply the clothing?
A- You may supply clothing if you want, but the garments
we order are designed for imprinting.
We cannot guarantee prints on customer supplied clothing.
Q-
We already have printed shirts that we have worn, can you add another logo?
A- If washed, we can add, but the quality deminishes on
washed clothing.
Q-
I had some hats embroidered elsewhere, can you use the logo off them?
A- Your first move should be to request from your previous
embroiderer the disc copy of your
logo. If it's not available, clean artwork is better than an actaul sample.
